Gelenkwellenwerk Stadtilm GmbH is a manufacturer of cardan shafts and cardan shaft components of high quality standards and international reputation for 60 years.
GEWES (Gelenkwellenwerk Stadtilm GmbH) has been organised as a company of 5 „fractals“, which is about the same as profit centre, but aiming at an optimum of the profit of all divisions together.

In four fractals we produce for our customers
• Double cardan shafts up to 15,000 Nm
• Cardan shafts up to 260,000 Nm
• Drive shafts, rear axle shafts
• Precision turned parts like gear parts and king pins in large units and carry out required heat treatments in the 5th fractal.
Each production unit is supported by the central R+D, Purchase, Quality Control and Metrology
More than 500 customers in 38 countries prove the trust in the reliability and quality of GEWES. The company has got a certified quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and ISO/TS 16949:2002 as well as environmental management system according to DIN EN ISO 14001:2005.
